Agent versions

Status: Current | Last reviewed: 2026-10-12

An agent has many versions. A version is a complete, runnable configuration: STT, LLM, TTS, prompt, tools, workflows. You iterate by creating new versions, comparing them, and publishing the ones that work.

Draft vs. published

Every version is in one of two states:

The agent always has at least one draft. It may have zero, one, or many published versions.

Inspecting a version

Click Draft or the version label beside the agent name in the top toolbar. Choose a published version to inspect it, or Draft to return to the working configuration. Current marks the published version serving calls. The picker is also available to viewers. Selecting a version does not publish it or replace the draft.

You can focus the version picker and press Enter, then choose with Up/Down and Enter. Escape closes the menu. A draft is labelled Draft, without an inferred version number.

Creating a new version

From the agent detail page:

  1. Use the version picker beside the agent name to inspect a published version or open the draft.
  2. On a published version, click Open draft to return to the existing draft. This opens the current draft; it does not replace it with the version you were viewing.
  3. If there is no draft, Save As Draft creates one from the displayed configuration.

The editor saves changes as you make them. There is no separate Save button.

Publishing a version

When a draft is ready:

  1. Open the draft.
  2. Click Publish in the top right.
  3. Review gradual rollout and, where applicable, CCaaS availability.
  4. Confirm.

The version is now live. The draft remains as a separate version if you want to keep iterating.

Change history

Activity → Change History shows who changed or published the agent, when it happened, and a short explanation of what changed, across all published versions and drafts. The Version column shows each entry's version number or Draft; a dash means the event has no recorded version. There is no version selector in Activity. Conversation History also includes all versions and draft test conversations, with the version shown on each row. When your workspace has Generate with AI / Assistant enabled, TrueServe may label change explanations with AI; otherwise it still shows a deterministic summary and the expandable diff details.

CCaaS Availability

For agents that can take contact-center calls (voice agents, translation, copilots), the publish dialog shows a CCaaS Availability section listing your active integrations with the Telephony capability (Genesys, Amazon Connect, Five9, and similar sources). Check the integrations that should be able to route calls to this agent.

See CCaaS routing to agents for the platform-side setup notes.

Sending traffic to a version

When more than one version is published, you can split traffic between them:

  1. Open a draft and click Publish.
  2. Enable Gradual rollout and select the new version's traffic percentage.
  3. Review the remaining-traffic explanation and confirm the publish.

TrueServe assigns calls and chats to published versions according to the weights. Use traffic splits to A/B test prompts, model choices, and voice changes.

Note: Conversations don't switch versions mid-flight. Once a call is routed to v3, it stays on v3 until the call ends.

Rolling back

Published versions remain available in the toolbar's version picker for inspection. Activity → Change History records changes across versions. Open the draft, restore the desired configuration, test it, and publish a corrected version. Open draft alone does not restore the published version you were viewing.

The current editor does not offer Unpublish.
